Always follow the care label on the item itself, because it is written for that exact fabric. As a general rule our knits, cottons and linens do best on a cold gentle cycle, inside out and with similar colours, then dried flat or tumbled on low. Warm iron if needed, and no bleach. Leather, suede, wool coats and structured bags are not machine washable and should go to a specialist cleaner.
